A GYM has raised over £200 for a children’s charity after organising a ‘zumbathon’.

Fitness4Less instructors organised the three-hour charity zumbathon which took place in Cathedral Square, Worcester yesterday (September 7).

The money raised will be donated to Acorns Children's Hospice.

The instructors who took part were Aimee Ford, Emma Ballard and Julius Fernandez, who all work for Worcester’s Fitness4Less as Zumba instructors.

Ms Ford said: “We at Fitness4Less chose to support Acorns as we feel everything should start with helping children.

“We promote health and fitness as a way of life and helping to keep children healthy is and always should be everyone’s number one priority.

“The event was our first ever Zumbathon but given the success and the feedback we received afterwards we will definitely be doing many more.

“We raised over £200 for Acorns and we aim to grow the event each time we put it on and increase that amount.”

Rod Drury who attended said: "It was a great experience and great fun with three wonderful Zumba instructors and all for a great cause. Should do it every weekend."

Donella Crisdon said: "Great energy from Aimee, Julius and Emma the instructors and all the Zumba dance lovers involved which kept the enthusiasm going for all three hours. Spectators enjoyed it too and all for a great local cause of Acorn Children's Hospice. An amazing fun filled Saturday."
