YAMAZAKI Mazak is opening its doors to announce the launch of its new machining centre.

The company is holding an open house event to launch its new Worcester-built five-axis machining centre.

The event will showcase 26 machines in total, including a number making their UK debut.

Also known as EMO Encore, the event is a highlight on Mazak’s calendar and is scheduled every two years following the German trade show EMO in Hannover, during which Mazak traditionally launches its new machines for the European market.

The star of the show at EMO Encore 2019 is the UK launch of the CV5-500, a new fully simultaneous 5-axis machine, which has been developed in the UK and will be built at the company’s Worcester facility.

The machine is being brought to market at a highly competitive price point and has a high-rigidity bridge construction with a fully supported trunnion table, which delivers an accurate and extremely compact machining solution.

Alan Mucklow, managing director of the UK and Ireland Sales and Service Division at Yamazaki Mazak UK, said: “This is an open invitation for all those involved with metal cutting machines in the Midlands to visit our facility for EMO Encore and see the latest technology in action.

"We are bringing back the best of Hannover and we hope machine tool users from the local area will be able to join us.

“The new CV5-500 is the standout machine, further developing our capabilities in 5-axis machining with a price point that offers a real opportunity for those with the ambition to move into more complex machining processes.”

The Open House is being held at Mazak’s European Technology Centre in Worcester from the 3rd to the 5th December 2019, will showcase 26 machines in total, including a number of UK debuts.

Mr Mucklow added: “EMO Encore is a must for all Midlands engineering firms, their chance to get close to the latest technology and see our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, including our two new robot manufacturing cells for themselves.

"It is a must-see for Midlands machine users and we look forward to welcoming attendees in December.”
