A WEBSITE claims to show how funding would change per pupil for each school in Worcestershire under each political party's election manifesto commitments

Schoolcuts.org.uk shows how the funding promises in the manifestos of the Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats would affect each school in the county per pupil in 2020 compared to 2015.

For example, compared to 2015, Christopher Whitehead Language College will be £176 per pupil worse off under the Conservative proposals, unchanged under the Liberal Democrats’, but £163 better off under Labour’s plans.

Sean McCauley, branch secretary of the National Education Union (NEU) in Worcestershire, said: “Under the funding commitments made by the current government, 192 Worcestershire schools will be worse off in 2020 compared to 2015.

“The average cut in the county stands at over £200 per pupil, with some such as Stanley Road Primary higher than £600.”

Mr McCauley added: “As a union we have been out campaigning in Worcester, handing out leaflets and getting petitions signed, highlighting the devastation cuts cause in schools.

“We can now see, for the first time, that there is a real choice on offer to voters in this general election.”

The website is supported by a coalition of unions, including the Musicians’ Union, National Education Union and National Association of Head Teachers.
