A POLITICAL sign has been defaced by vandals.

The Conservative party sign is situated on Worcester Road in Malvern.

Black spray paint appears to have been used to write an obscene message across the top of the banner.

Paul Selway-Swift, West Worcestershire Conservative Association chairman, said: “I am aware of a series of vandalism attacks on Conservative signs across Malvern overnight and this is a very disappointing development.

“Our volunteers are now working to remove the signs and the police have been informed and will be investigating this matter.

"This is not the first time that people have resorted to bully-boy tactics."

Labour signs were also vandalised in Worcester last week, causing damage to four boards.

Labour parliamentary candidate for Worcester, Lynn Denham said: “I really don’t know why someone would this. It’s concerning if it’s politically motivated. It feels as though people are being bullied by saying they support Labour. People should be able to express their views without being afraid to do so."

Anyone with information on the Conservative sign damage can call police on 101 quoting crime number 318s 101219.
