A WOMAN who suffered serious injuries in a road crash on the Birmingham New Road, Dudley, has died.

The 73-year-old was struck by a van just before 2pm on Friday (January 10) and she passed away at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday (January 11) Dudley Police have confirmed.

Another woman, in her 60s, who was also seriously injured, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and has been helping officers with their enquiries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are continuing to establish the circumstances and we continue to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

"Our sympathies remain with the family of the lady who has sadly died from her injuries."
