FIRSTLY, I would like to wish you well, after what I hope was a lovely festive period for you and your family, writes Bromsgrove MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid.

Last week, Conservative MP’s returned to Parliament to press on with levelling up our great country and delivering on our manifesto commitments.

That includes getting Brexit done and on Thursday, with our increased majority in Parliament, we passed the Third Reading of the EU Withdrawal Bill – a huge step forward in ensuring we leave the EU at 11pm, January 31.

It was fantastic to see new Conservative MPs – especially from the West Midlands, represent their constituents wishes and I am proud to have represented yours in voting alongside them.

Last week, I also announced the date for the government's first Budget.

On March 11, we will set out how we plan to cut taxes for workers and businesses, spread opportunity and invest billions throughout the UK.

This country wants change; we have listened – and on March 11, we will deliver.

Please remember, whether it’s through seeing me at a local surgery, a quick phone call, letter, or email, I’m always ready to take on your concerns. Sajid Javid MP
