Employees at Worcestershire’s largest social landlord are being encouraged to take part in a series of events to increase cultural awareness as part of its support of World Religion Day.
Staff from Platform Housing Group will take part in a visit to Tallow Hill mosque in Worcester on Monday January 20.
World Religion Day takes place on the third Sunday in January – January 19 this year – with the aim of promoting inter-faith understanding and harmony.
Through a variety of events held throughout the world, followers of every religion are encouraged to acknowledge the similarities that different faiths have.
The visit is the first in a series of events for the housing association which will include learning about various religious traditions and beliefs.
Tom Piotrowski, diversity and inclusion advisor at Platform Housing Group said: “As a housing association and social landlord, we have a great commitment to our local communities.
"Ensuring that our colleagues have a full understanding of different cultures and religions is vital to the success of our work.
"Events such as these will help broaden our understanding and ultimately ensure that we provide the very best service we can.”
Platform Housing Group provides more than 45,000 homes from Herefordshire in the west to the Lincolnshire coast in the east, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the north to the Cotswolds in the south.
