A MAN in Worcester drove while drunk after having an argument with his teenage son.
Magistrates in Worcester heard how Steven Fitzpatrick, of Guildford Close, had had an argument with his 17 year-old son over dinner.
The court heard the 46 year-old had been drinking earlier in the day and while preparing the meal, and got into his car, driving to County Hall to calm down.
Mark Turnbull, defending, said: "He has never been in trouble before - he had been to the pub earlier in the day and had a few drinks with friends. He was honest with police in his interview and he has taken it on the chin - he accepts it was a silly decision.
"He has self-referred himself to Swanswell to deal with his drinking."
Magistrates fined Fitzpatrick a total of £571 including a fine, victim surcharge and court costs.
Chair of the bench Gareth Thomas said: "Well done for referring yourself to Swanswell. That is a good thing and will be of great help to you."
