WORLD-FAMOUS vocal group The King’s Singers are to make a rare visit to the region with a concert at Malvern Theatres on Tuesday, January 28.

They’ll also be joined by singers from Armonico Consort’s AC Academy school choirs in Worcestershire for 'A Suitcase Full of Songs', a new work by Toby Young, AC's composer-in-residence.

King’s Singer Jonathan Howard said: “Toby strikes the perfect balance between brilliant, clever musicianship, incorporating lots of complex rhythms and harmonies, and creating a piece that’s catchy and accessible to everyone.”

Eight school choirs in Worcestershire are participating in the performance, of which three are brand new, formed through Armonico Consort’s choir creation scheme.

Participating choirs are: Malvern Wells, Perdiswell, Droitwich Spa High, Aston Fields, St Barnabas Church Hill, Middle Ipsley and Arrow Vale.

The King’s Singers featuring AC Academy Choirs, is at Malvern Theatres on Tuesday 28 January, 7pm.
