SATs scores in West Worcestershire are improving, according to the region’s MP.
Harriett Baldwin praised the work done by schools across the constituency after latest figures show further improvements in the annual SATs assessments.
More than half of the schools in West Worcestershire showed an increase in the number of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.
Two schools reached 100 per cent this year – Eldersfield and Grimley and Holt Primary Schools – with the national average now at 65 per cent.

Mrs Baldwin said: “This is great news for local parents and it’s a fitting tribute to the hard-working teachers across West Worcestershire and the pupils who have performed so well.
“Most of our local schools are rated as good or outstanding and this is further evidence of the high level of attainment as we work to give children the best possible start in life.
“I regularly visit primary schools myself and see at first hand the great job that they do.
“I will continue to speak up for them in Westminster as we seek to level up their funding, but the schools should be congratulated for this wonderful achievement.”
