A COMMUNITY group from Malvern raised more than £1,600 taking a Santa sleigh out to the children of Malvern.

Malvern Hills Round Table took their sleigh out seven times over the festive period to give hundreds of children the opportunity to meet Father Christmas.

The response from the public was fantastic, with the group bringing in £1,608 from members of the public to help raise money for St Richard's Hospice and community work in Malvern.

Rhys Humm from the group said: "We could see people on Facebook making arrangements with each other to go around to somebody's house to ensure they didn't miss out.

"Creating an environment where people are spending more quality time together was incredibly heartening.

"We plan to be back in Christmas 2020 visiting more areas on more nights so more children can see Father Christmas and hopefully raise more money for local charities too."
