HAPPY couples planning to tie the knot can take a look around a historic Dudley venue next month.

Priory Hall will be open for couples looking to get married or registering a civil partnership on Saturday, March 14.

Couples will have the chance to take a look around the Grade-II listed hall and enjoy a bridal fashion show.

Visitors can attend a demonstration ‘sand ceremony’, where the happy couple pour different coloured sand into a frame to create a keepsake to symbolise the merging of two individuals into a blended pair. Children of the couple can also take part in the ritual, showing the coming together of families.

There will also be demonstration weddings and exhibitors such as flower, dress, photography and ceremony car providers and a free prize draw, worth £400 to win a Priory Suite wedding at Priory Hall.

More than 500 people attended the event last year and organisers are expecting to be a success again this March.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for procurement, transformation and commercialisation, said: "We are holding one of our popular wedding open day events at Priory Hall, which give couples the ideal chance to look around this perfect venue and get inspiration for their own big day.

"Couples can also take part in our wedding free prize draw to be in with the chance to win their own dream wedding."

The open day will run from 10am to 3pm. For more information call 01384 815373.
