The Badsey Society's annual Tony Jerram Award presentation was made this year to husband and wife team Keith and Sheila Taylor.

This award was for their work in keeping the memorial fountain in the High Street looking tidy and colourful all year round.

The award is given each year in memory of the late Tony Jerram (1937-2008), the first chairman of The Badsey Society, and is given to somebody who the members feel has contributed to the good of the local community.

In the words of one of the people who nominated them, “their selfless dedication to the memorial is a joy to everyone.  It is always kept immaculate with beautiful flowers bought by Keith and Sheila from their own funds and for which they refuse to be recompensed.”

The fountain has stood in the High Street for over a hundred years.  It was erected by public subscription to commemorate the coronation of King George V in 1911.
