THE inside lane of the A456 Ringway in Kidderminster will close for three months starting next week to allow for road development works.

Work by Worcestershire County Council to improve transport links in the Churchfields area of Kidderminster are set to pick up pace next week.

Works are already under way to convert part of Churchfields into an A-road and to redesign the Horsefair, and the next phase of improvements will see work on the A456 Ringway.

This is to prepare for the joining of the new slip road between the Ringway and Churchfields and the development of the left in, left out junction at St Mary's Street.

Part of the preparations include utility diversions by BT, Cadent Gas, Western Power Distribution and Severn Trent Water in addition to installation of new street lighting.

To allow these diversion works to take place, the inside lane of the Ringway between Lower Mill Street and the roundabout with Blackwell Street will be closed on Monday, March 2 for approximately three months.

The Churchfields Urban Highway Improvement Scheme is being delivered in an effort to ease congestion and support the delivery of new homes planned in the area.
