RESIDENTS across Bromsgrove applauded for the NHS and key workers last night to show their appreciation for those working to keep the country safe during the coronavirus crisis.

The event, called Clap For Our Carers, returned for a second week running and saw people across the country take time at 8pm to stand on their doorsteps, streets and balconies to show their gratitude with applause.

The event recognises everyone who is working to keep the keep the country running, such as care workers, supermarket staff and bin workers.

Residents have shared their pride in the communities on social media, as people came together during this difficult time to give thanks.

Sarah Bailey said: "Oak Road and could hear loud and clear all the claps, cheers and whistles!! Such a sense of pride to hear us all united."

Police and firefighters in Bromsgrove joined in to show their support for their fellow key workers on the frontline in the fight against coronavirus.
