PARENTS across the county today will be finding out which primary or first school their children will be attending from September.
Nine out of ten children will be told today (April 16) that they will be attending their first-choice primary or first school, according to Worcestershire County Council.
The council received 6,186 applications this year - up by 83 more than last year. Just over 2,500 applicants were received for children attending middle schools in the autumn.
Cllr Marcus Hart, cabinet member for education at the county council said: “I am grateful for the efforts of our admissions staff who have worked hard to ensure every application received has been allocated a place during this COVID-19 pandemic.
"Starting school is a major milestone in a child’s life and it’s great news that so many children will be starting school this year in one of their preferred schools.”
