AN elderly Belbroughton couple have been left upset after vandals slashed their garden sun loungers that were given to them to celebrate a milestone anniversary.

The couple, aged in their 80s, had recently received the recliners as a gift for their silver wedding anniversary and they were devastated to find them destroyed after leaving them in their garden overnight.

A relative took to Facebook to highlight the incident which happened in Woodfield Gardens and said: "When I went to help them get them in this evening we sadly found they had been slashed right in the middle of each of the seats.

"I have two very upset elderly relatives who can't understand why a petty act of vandalism has happened. They were brand new, they'd only sat on them twice."

She said the incident has been reported to the police.

The sun loungers are believed to have been damaged between 6pm on Saturday June 27 and 4pm Sunday June 28.
