COTSWOLD-based cider makers Broadway Press has been busy throughout the lockdown, making and delivering its Ice Cyder and apple juice straight to customers' doors.
Founded in spring 2019, the cider has already scooped The People’s Choice Award at The Three Counties Cider and Perry Festival.
The products are handcrafted in Broadway using a unique ‘cryo-extraction’ process inspired by nature and the abundance of orchards throughout the region.
Local cider maker and chemical engineer Michael Burford said: "The cidery uses the apples that supermarkets deem ‘Class 2’ due to their less than perfect appearance.
"Not only are the apples no longer considered as food waste, but the pulp produced in the cider making process makes excellent feed for the livestock on a local farm.
“Having been just a year into trading when Covid hit, we were concerned. Instead we've been able to grow and adapt throughout this period, and we’ll be coming out of the pandemic a stronger business thanks to the fantastic support of our communities.”
