DEVELOPERS transforming Stourbridge's former police station into new homes say nearly 40 per cent have already been locked up by excited buyers.

Lovell Homes is turning the landmark former police base on Stourbridge ring road into 31 one and two-bedroom apartments.

A physical launch day for the development, which includes unique mezzanine and penthouse apartments, had been scheduled for April but it was put on hold due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Keen property hunters, however, have not been put off by the COVID-19 crisis and 12 of the apartments have already been snapped up via virtual homebuying methods.

Trish Foster, regional sales director, said: “We’re thrilled at how popular this development has been, even prior to being able to hold a physical launch event, which we’re hoping to eventually reschedule later in the year.

“Despite the backdrop of the current pandemic, the homes at Station House have been exceptionally popular with almost 40 per cent of the development already having sold."

No two homes in the development are the same and the homes retain many of the original police station features from the 1900s, including the striking external blue doors and ceiling of the old courtroom

Even former police cells have even been converted into apartments, creating one-of-a-kind properties for modern living - the developers say.One-bedroom apartments are priced from £139,950 and two-bedroom apartments are available from £178,000.

Aspiring home-owners can book 'VIP' appointments to meet 1-1 with the sales team to find out more about the development or take a virtual tour of one of the apartments online at lovell.co.uk/developments/station-house/.
