PAULINE Savage pipped Cathy Harris in the Peg Evans Centenary Cup.

Savage was rewarded with her second under-par round of the month to reduce her handicap to 28.

Harris took Division Two with 36 points from Di Wilde on 34 and Sue Boardman on 33.

Behind Savage in Division Two, Joan Herbert returned 33 and Brenda Lowe 32.

Pauline Taylor won the nine-hole competition with 20.

The midweek stableford saw David Linnie win Division One with 37 points, Greg Mayers top Division Two with 36 and Mike Travis lead Division Three with 39.

In EW Evans round three, Ralph Kelsall recorded 10 pars and two birdies in his 39 points on a day when course manager Steve Lloyd had set some tricky pins.

Tom Howells finished second in Division One with 37 and Andrew Perkins was third with 36.

Roger Turner also recorded 39 to win Division Two ahead of Allan Davies and Tony Cox with both on 36.

Division Three went to Michael Morris with 38 ahead of Alan Smith and Chris Massey on 37.

The Worcestershire seniors triumphed 6-2 at Naunton Downs.

Captain Andy Peet and Brian Piner won 4&3, Ron Gordon and James Noon 3&2, Andrew Colston and Nigel Teale 3&2, Ron Barker and Dave Anderson 6&4 and Terry Cox and Neil Hide one-up.

Robin Marling and Tony Cox and Stan Jones and Phil Bayliss halved while Tim Keates and Keith Hitchcock lost 5&3.

The seniors made amends for their early-season defeat at Cirencester with a home win.

Peet and Jones won one-up, Terry Cox and Barry Caswell 7&6, Tony Cox and Peter Kirton 4&3, Les Facer and Hitchcock 4&3 and Mike Travis and David Radley 6&4.

Barker and Gordon halved but Roger Blackwell and Dave Anderson lost 5&3 and Ken Willett and Euan McClelland 4&3.

Minchinhampton brought 10 strong pairs for a greensome matchplay contest at The Worcestershire who won 6-4.
