BRANSFORD hosted their first junior club championship to mark the growth of the section and the improvement shown by the youngsters.

Club professional Tim Shephard, who first began the blossoming section for those aged nine to 15 three years ago when he was assistant, provided the trophy.

William Ritson was the first winner with 115 gross 52 handicap 63 nett from Noah Wilson on 130-51=79, Norton Fowles on 107-27=80 and Calum Mason on 131-47=84.

Shephard runs two sessions on Saturdays from 10am until 11am and 11am until noon and more juniors are welcome.

The main club's September stableford was won by Andy Lammas (6 handicap) after one birdie and 15 pars for 42 points in Division One.

Steve Thompson (11) got 41, Simon Pitt (9), Jonathan Hunt (11), Gordon Jack (10) and Jack Cullity (8) 38 and Mike Madden (12) 36.

William Ritson won Division Two with 41 from Mervyn Miles (18) on 39, Darren Jones (17) on 34 and Pete Sheppard (15) and Eliot Payne (15) on 33.

The September medal was won by Andrew Oliver with 77-9=68 from Karl Barnett on 82-13=69, F Mazzocchi on 85-15=70, Steve Thompson on 81-11=70, Darren Jones on 88-17=71, Bren Tally on 100-29=71 and Jonathan Hunt on 87-11=71.
