THE Chase School's show jumping team won their first competition of the academic year at Rectory Farm, Cirencester.

The Malvern pupils did the last class of the day at 6pm in their first visit to the venue.

Alice Woodward, who has only just started year seven, made her Chase debut alongside Molly Woodward, Lucy Philpotts and Esme Ruff.

The team rode well and with the best three scores to count the pressure was on to secure as few faults as possible coupled with a fast time.

They achieved strong times with Ruff and Philpotts doing speedy clear rounds.

As a result, Ruff finished first individually and Philpotts fourth. The team automatically qualified for this month's national championships in Bedfordshire.
