LEDBURY Town Reserves crashed to a humiliating 12-3 defeat at high-flying Ludlow Town Colts in Herefordshire FA County League Division One.

Daniel Crowther struck four times for the hosts with Simon Bradley, Daniel Griffiths and Martyn Jones picking up braces.

Jack Pound and Nathan Priday also added a goal each to their side’s extraordinary tally.

Josh Burns netted a consolation brace for Ledbury with Alistair Holder notching the third as Nick Blakeway’s side look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Division Two outfit Dore Valley in the second round of the Herefordshire FA Junior Cup (2pm).

It was also a disappointing weekend for Ledbury Town’s first-team who were knocked out of the Herefordshire FA County Challenge Cup by arch rivals Bartestree.

Town found themselves facing an uphill battle when the visitors opened the scoring on nine minutes before extending their lead on 35 minutes following a well-placed cross and a superb header.

Five minutes after the interval Curt Williams slotted home a penalty after Joe Bullock was brought down in the box.

Despite a string of impressive saves from Town player-manager Pat Locke Bartestree had the game all but wrapped up by the 62nd minute as they put away their third to book a place in the quarter-final.

Town must now shift their attention back to Premier Division action as they visit Fownhope on Saturday (2.30pm).
