NEIL Holbrow won Division One in Bransford seniors’ eclectic competition after completing six rounds without dropping a shot to par.

Over the summer he achieved three birdies in qualifying medals while parring the other 15 holes to finish the season with a score of 69.

Alan Ford had two birdies and one bogey while Dave Wild had four birdies and three bogeys with both getting 71.

A further two behind were Trevor Atkinson and Richard Steele while Rob Blake, Mike Davidge and Ferey Ghani got 74.

In Division Two, Roy Williams led on 73, three ahead of Martin Linley, and third went to Paul Edlin on 79.

Division Three went to Adrian Wood with 77 ahead of John Knowles on 79 and Roy Mayo on 80.

Holbrow (13 handicap) was just off the pace in the October white stableford with 34 points behind June Atkinson (19) and eventual winner Steele (15) with 38.

Gerry Rebbeck (14) also had 34 while Tony Lee (19) and Graham Wilks (18) scored 32.

Rob Wetton (22) won Division Two with 39, four ahead of Dave Lindsay (22), while Lee Dyment (20) had 34.

Leading the way in Division Three was Charlie Hawkridge (25) with 35, two ahead of Alan Wallcroft (25), Chris Griffin (31) and Andy Falconer (25).

Seniors' captain Dave Miller held the second away day of his year in office when 48 members visited the Feldon Valley course.

In a stableford format of 16 teams of three, Mike Murley (32), Chris Cale (35) and Cliff Hayes (32) won on countback.

Their 87 was equalled by Rob Lawrence (34), Ferey Ghani (35) and Dave Ryall (31) with third going to Dick Bettsworth (29), Mike Kemp (36) and Ford (34) on 86.

Four finished with an equal best individual 37 with Rebbeck claiming first on countback from Holbrow (19), Trevor Atkinson (18) and Mike Weaver (17).

Nearest-the-pin prizes went to Wild and Mike Holmes.

The seniors staged the final of the summer race to Bransford competition.

Thirty players tackled a tournament of the day and the final when players took forward points from Friday events since April.

The main prize was claimed by Wilks with 44.1 after scoring 38 points in the stableford.

Runner-up was June Atkinson with 41.3 (39) followed by Lindsay on 39.8 (38), Wallcroft on 39.1 (34), Edlin on 38.8 (35) and Rebbeck on 37.2 (33).

Top spot in the competition of the day went to Richard Holding (35) with Gordon White second (34) and Ann Hayden third (32).

Bransford seniors secured the double over visiting Burghill Valley with a 5½-2½ win.

Weaver (20) and Pete Harrison (24) won 3&2, Ghani (15) and White (26) 5&4, Phil Spencer (20) and John Phillips (21) 8&7, Blake (15) and Wallcroft (25) one-up and Davidge (18) and Roger Clark (24) 7&5.

Wild (13) and Mark Weston (25) halved while Miller (18) and Andrew Jarvis (24) lost 6&5 and Falconer (25) and Cale (18) 5&4.
