MALVERN Vale Firsts won their third game in a row with a 3-0 triumph at Prestbury Rovers Reserves in Cheltenham League Division Three.

A weakened squad was missing Anthony Cakebread, new signing Jordan Richards, Ethan Lambert, Mike Buckland and top scorer Matt Strangwood with Edgar Sanha and Ashley Banner injured but on the bench.

But Vale took the game to the hosts and Mario Vieira quickly scored from a low, curling, 25-yard free-kick which deceived the keeper.

Ash Griffiths chipped just wide and penalty appeals were turned down when Mig Passaro appeared to be hauled down in the box.

Prestbury had an effort chalked off for offside and Vale keeper Luke Pawley saved well before Andre Rodrigues cleared off the line.

Just before the break Passaro was wiped out by the keeper but Griffiths latched onto the ball and fired home.

Vale got the important next goal as Passaro looped a header over the keeper from near the edge of the area on 55 minutes.

Their man of the match Pawley denied the hosts several times from point-blank range while Griffiths' long-range effort drifted wide at the other end.

Vale return home for the first time since September 1 on Saturday against Andoversford Reserves at Malvern Vale Community Centre.

Ed Lyons scored twice as leaders Welland Reserves won 4-1 at Leckhampton Rovers Reserves with Jamie Harding and Simon Haywood also scoring.

Table-toppers Malvern Cave beat Kempsey Corinthians 2-0 in Division Four thanks to Ashley Prosser and Luke Roberts.

Third-placed Upton Town thrashed Newton 8-0 in Division One with Dylan Hart bagging five goals.

Kristian Richardson, Cameron Holland-Bowyer and Noah Martin also scored.

Fourth-from-bottom Hanley Swan lost 2-1 at home to leaders Andoversford with Ashley Bloore netting and David Smith sent off.

Welland lost 3-2 at Charlton Rovers in Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One.
