MALVERN Hills Indoor Bowls Club have made an impressive start to the 2018-19 season.
Their wheelchair bowler Joe Peplow competed in a national open singles competition run by the English Amputee and Les Autres Bowls Association (EALABA) over two days at Tamworth.
This was the first time Peplow had competed in this type of event.
Twenty-four, including some internationals, played in a round-robin system.
Peplow won two games to finish in a creditable eighth place.
He has also competed in the EALABA national drawn pairs competition at the same venue in October and reached the final before losing narrowly.
Malvern Hills teams are competing in a number of leagues throughout the week.
Novice and experienced bowlers of all standards are always welcome at the inclusive club.
They can play on Mondays and Wednesdays while the Friday evening league is open to non-members.
Coaching is available on Wednesday evenings.
