THE Worcestershire seniors' Christmas lunch and prize-giving was held at the Malvern Wells club.

Beforehand 48 players competed in a three-ball team alliance with two scores counting over 16 holes.

The winning team with 82 points were James Ferguson, Barry Caswell and John Green.

Runners-up with 81 were Stan Jones, Neil Hyde and Dave Anderson.

The club's winter mixed season is well under way with five of the 10 competitions completed.

With Peter Hill still injured, Bill Massey partnered Liz Pool and they headed the field in the greensome and foursome competitions in December.

The husband-and-wife pairing of Andrew and Sally Dare also competed well with two third places.

The vets' goose competition was won by Tony Cox with 36 points, two clear of Gary Eames.

Ursula Pearson, Geraldine Williams, Hazel Cartledge and Liz Gordon took the ladies' Florida scramble win with 69.2 nett.

Past captain Sue Boardman, accompanied by ladies' secretary Jenny Musson, presented a cheque for £2,165 to Midlands Air Ambulance.

Her nephew Jim Hancox flew into Strensham services to receive the funds raised by the club during 2018.
