TWO The Chase School pupils qualified for the National Schools’ Cross Country Championships in Leeds on March 16.

Holly Love was crowned Hereford and Worcester schools’ seniors girls’ champion at Top Barn near Worcester with Malachi Cashmore getting the boys’ equivalent title.

Tom Alston and Harry Foreman had also qualified for the senior races.

Cashmore had a strong start and maintained his pace with the front-runners.

He took his time and kept to his race plan to come back from a five-second deficit and overtake the Heart of Worcestershire College runner before finishing strongly.

Alston came in 10th and Foreman 12th. Love maintained control throughout her race, dominating a field of 12 to finish champion.

The Malvern school’s junior boys had a large amount of qualifiers with two in the top 12.

Matthew Roberts finished 10th and Arty Wilson-Spence 12th.
