LEADERS Malvern Vale Firsts scored their 100th Cheltenham League Division Three goal this season in a 5-0 win at Tewkesbury Town Reserves.

Vale, with influential midfielder Andre Rodrigues back, went ahead on just two minutes when Mario Vieira's corner was deflected past keeper Marc Lane.

On 10 minutes Vieira tested Lane from the edge of the area and the keeper's save fell to Nick Jones who fired home emphatically from close range.

Keeper Marcin Celmer saved low to deny Town before Vale introduced top scorers Matt Strangwood and Mig Passaro at half-time.

With the hosts down to 10 men for a red card after two bookings, Strangwood fired home a resulting penalty for handball.

Strangwood headed in a cross-shot from Kris Bottrell before Town were reduced to nine for foul and abusive language.

Minutes later Strangwood rounded off his hat-trick with Vale's 100th league goal through an overhead kick.

Vale host Kings Reserves on Saturday as they continue their push for the title.

Third-placed Welland Reserves drew two away games in a row — 3-3 at Falcons Reserves and 1-1 at Windyridge Rovers.
