MALVERN Vale Firsts maintained their Cheltenham League Division Three title challenge with an 11-0 home win over Kings Reserves.

With just a few minutes gone Mario Vieira created an opening for Nick Jones to fire home.

Vale extended their lead as Ryan Upson linked well with Vieira who beat keeper Adam Lywood.

On 12 minutes left-back Anthony Cakebread broke forward and played in top scorer Matt Strangwood for 3-0.

A minute later Upson scored his first goal for Vale as he converted Mig Passaro's through-ball.

Passaro was again the provider on 22 minutes with Strangwood getting his second of the game.

The roles were reversed a minute later when Passaro neatly slotted past the advancing Lywood having hit both the bar and post earlier.

With five minutes to the interval Jamie Jones sent a long ball forward, setting Passaro free for Vale's seventh.

The goal of the day came on 42 minutes when Cakebread unleashed a powerful drive from 30 yards out.

Vale scored their ninth before half-time when Strangwood completed his second hat-trick in as many weeks.

It took Vale until the 75th minute to score their 10th when Nick Jones neatly finished off Cakebread's pass.

Upson then left Pep Inzi with an easy chance to complete the scoring in the closing minutes.

Vale also had efforts from Vieira and Jones ruled out for offside.

Welland Reserves lost 3-2 at Prestbury Rovers Reserves with Jamie Harding and Simon Haywood netting.

Malvern Cave drew 2-2 at Bishops Cleeve Development in Division Four after a double from Matthew Mcintosh.
