A SOLID, reliable and consistent campaign with good progression helped Adam Sauntson lift the main 2018-19 Malvern Town player of the season award.

The determined defender, a key figure in the back-line, also won the players’ vote and supporters' young player accolade.

“It’s always nice to win awards and I’m chuffed that the management, my team-mates and the supporters have voted for me,” he said.

“It’s nice to have all the hard work of the past nine months or so recognised in this way.

“I’ve been at the club for three years now and every season I am growing and getting better.

"The environment we have here is brilliant and it is a great place to play football and develop as a player.

“The season as a whole has gone well for the team. There were a lot of changes during last summer but as a group there have been a lot of positives.

“From a personal point of view I am pleased with the standards that I have been able to set and I want to keep progressing in order to achieve my goals here.

“There are a lot of good things going on at the club and hopefully we can keep pushing on and achieve promotion at the end of next season.

“To end the season with some silverware in the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup was a good feeling.”

Winger Harry Clark took home three accolades as he added the golden boot and young player of the season awards to his supporters’ player honour.

He has made a big contribution in goals and assists since arriving just over 12 months ago.

“To pick up the supporters’ player of the season award was really special,” he said.

“One of the reasons why the club is so successful is because of the fans who turn up week in week out without fail.

“They know the club inside out so to get their vote is very pleasing and to be able to add two further awards makes it a fantastic end to the season.

“As a club we are all geared up for promotion into the next level. We have proved on numerous occasions against teams from the higher level exactly what we are capable of.”
