EIGHT Upton Rowing Club crews achieved mixed results at the Worcester Regatta.

The quad of Olly Tomkinson, Janine Longbotham, Harriet Court and Alice Jeffery won their first heat in the open women’s category only to come up short in the final.

Sally Miles and Lance Hollis and Chris Horne and Debbie Thompson lost to teams from Worcester and Warwick respectively in the mixed masters C/D doubles.

A steering issue led Richard Gill and Jon Eaton to lose in the masters B/C doubles.

Jo Hammett and Linda Scott convincingly won the women’s masters E/F doubles straight final over a Bridgnorth crew.

Miles and Thompson lost in the first heat of the women’s open doubles while Steve Thrush, Adam Checkley, Gill and Eaton came out on top in their masters C/D quads straight final.

In the women’s master E quads Scott, Sue MacGregor, Pippa Riddle and Hammett won their first heat against Ross and then went on to win the final against Worcester.

Andrew Scott rowed very well in the masters G/H single sculls, almost overcoming the nine second handicap but missed out by three quarters of a length
