A FIRST regatta win for Chris Horne and Lance Hollis was among the highlights for Upton rowers in their latest outing.

Following success at Monmouth, Upton crews were in action at Hereford City Regatta.

Sally Miles and Debbie Thompson had a good row in the women’s open doubles but missed out to a younger crew from Monkton Combe School by just two lengths.

The new double of Andrew Scott and Pippa Riddle impressed in the mixed masters D/F doubles only to lose by two-and-a-half lengths to Stratford.

Horne and Hollis rowed well in the masters low PRI doubles to record their first regatta win comfortably over Hereford.

Jo Hammett and Linda Scott won their women’s masters D/E/F doubles heat against Hereford.

They overcame a 10-second handicap to take the final by three lengths over Avon County.

Miles and Thompson also raced in the women’s masters B/C/D doubles and overcame a 15-second handicap to win by two-and-a-quarter lengths over Stourport.
