CHRIS Loveridge won Malvern Anglers’ Newtown Shield which had been delayed for two weeks due to the flooded River Severn.
At Holdfast, river levels had dropped after a warm week and conditions looked favourable.
Good catches of bream were recorded along the stretch.
Leading the weights was Chris Loveridge with bream up to 7lb on maggot feeder to finish with 34lb 5oz.
Not far behind in second place with 29-4 was Paul Lane with several bream up to about 4lb and a chub.
On the end peg of the stretch, new member Rolly Baldwin finished third with a net of 23-3, just ahead of Dave Green with 21-4 and Ian Goddard with 20-6.
Lee Harman caught 10-12, Richie Webster 8-10, Frank Edwards 7-6, Dave Stretton 4-12 and Nigel Bayliss 4-6.
