MALVERN’S The Chase landed the best school prize for a record-breaking 10th time at the Worcestershire Youth Sailing Association (WYSA) OnBoard Festival.

Pupils aged eight to 17 from 14 schools put their skills to the test at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren near Droitwich. Chase’s young team came out on top for the first time since 2016 but the fourth in eight years.

Prizes were awarded to Lia Horne after a close battle in the Topper class and Harrison Allen who triumphed in the tight Laser competition.

Qualities such as improvement (Amelie Simon) and enthusiasm (Luke Glattback and Isabel McDougall) were recognised too.

Prizes were also awarded to the less experienced youngsters enjoying the fun fleet.

Castlemorton Primary School attended the festival as well with youngsters also enjoying canoe slalom and long distance and bell boat races. 

Trophies and medals were handed out by Derek Moss, a WYSA founder member.
