MALVERN Triathlon Club ace Vikki Sivertsen was crowned an Ironman Wales champion in Tenby.

The 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike section and 26.2-mile run was completed by Sivertsen in 13 hours nine minutes 25 seconds.

She won the women's 50 to 54 year age group with a 30-minute lead over second place and earned a spot at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, next year. Malvern club-mates Neill Williamson finished in 12.13.32 and Steve Keepax 13.35.41.

In Italy, Dick Watling did the full Ironman of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike section and 26.2-mile run in 11.36.53.

Emma Watling and Sophie Whitfield completed the Ironman 70.3, which consisted of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike section and 13.1-mile run, in 6.52.59 and 7.12.42 respectively.

The Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth involved a swim of 950m, 56-mile bike section and 13.1-mile run.

Jayne Ackroyd finished in 6.11.09, Lorraine Brooks 6.15.36, Andrew Rickard 6.29.54 and Clive Brooks 7.44.48.

The Newent Sprint Triathlon saw competitors tackle a 400m swim, 18km bike section and 4km run.

Colin Davies clocked 1.03.31, John Bryan 1.03.57 and Sarah Davies 1.10.50.

Malvern's Gary Lambert did the Wild Wye river swim over 10.5km in 2.26.
