WILL Ritson secured Bransford Golf Club juniors’ second championships by just one shot.

In windy conditions, a close finish saw Ritson (31 handicap) finish first with 73 nett from Norton Fowles (28) on 74.

Noah Wilson (47) scored 81 and Calum Mason (44) 103.

Club professional Tim Shephard runs junior coaching on Saturdays with the more advanced from 10am until 11am and the younger ones from 11am until noon.

Gerry Rebbeck, Geoff Aston and Trevor Ditchfield are the seniors’ summer league winners after six rounds.

Rebbeck won Division One for handicaps 0 to 18 with 116 points from Trevor Atkinson on 114, Neil Holbrow and Roy Burston on 109, Chris Cale and Phil Spencer on 107 and Richard Steele, Mike Weaver and Terry Martin on 105.

The sixth round saw Pete Anthony score 43, Spencer 39, Chris Bloore 37, Cale and Ferey Ghani 36 and Burston 35.

Division Two for 18 to 24 went to Aston with 114 while Dave Lindsay and Alan Cockill got 110, Andrew Jarvis and Martin Linley 109, Dave Ryall 107 and Barry Benge 106.

In the sixth round, Gerry McCurry managed 38, Aston 37, Lindsay 35, John Phillips 34 and Ken Jones and Benge 33.

Ditchfield took Division Three for 24-plus with 120 in front of McCurry in 111, Brian Curnock on 110, Brian Taylor on 106, Andy Falconer on 104 and John Knowles and Rob Lawrence on 101.

Bob Lane totalled 39 in the sixth round, Falconer and Gordon White 37 and Jeff Carlisle, Robin Brighton and Cliff Hayes 36.

Bransford seniors finished their summer fixtures unbeaten at home, seeing off Burghill Valley 4.5-1.5.

There were wins for White (27) and Weaver (18) 4&3, Phillips (23) and Mike Davidge (17) one-up, Alan Wallcroft (27) and Harry Godwin (22) 5&4 and Ron Perkins (28) and Andrew Jarvis (23) 5&3.

Falconer (26) and Les Clarke (21) halved while Neil Sheldon (23) and Spencer (18) lost 2&1.

Keith Edgell (20) won the seniors’ October stableford with 40 points after carding one birdie and six pars.

Rebbeck (15) scored 39, Cockill (20) and Martin (19) 37 and Aston (20) and Weaver (18) 36.

Benge (21) pipped Tony Lee (21) on countback in Division Two on 37 from Phillips (23) on 36 and Jarvis (23) and Ditchfield (25) on 35.

Division Three went to Roger Steade (31) with 35 from White (28) and Hayes (34) on 34 and Perkins, Steve Littlewood and Chris Griffin on 31.

Pete Sheppard (14) won the club’s monthly medal on countback from Mark Tipton (9) after both got 70 nett.

Mark Bunyan was third on 71 and Gordon Jack fourth on 72 while Tipton’s 79 was the lowest gross.

The monthly stableford went to Mervyn Miles (18) with 39 points from Steve Slack (20) on 37, Mike Madden on 36 and Joe Turner on 35.

Lesley Lammas got 74 to win the ladies’ monthly medal from Trish Godwin on 77 and Jenny Bennett and Leigh Thomas on 78.
