HEREFORD Pegasus had an "off day" despite running out 4-0 winners against New College Academy, insists the side's manager Mick Panniers.

The boss said it was a comfortable victory against the league's bottom side, but there is still room for improvement.

Mark Langford netted twice before the break to give the Hereford side an advantage going into half time, before Jack Lewis scored his first goal since returning to the club.

Langford then completed his hat-trick to ensure Peggy secured another home win in their first season in the uhlsport Hellenic League Division One West.

"It was quite comfortable but we missed too many chances for my liking," admitted Panniers.

"I know we still won, but we had an off day. It was good to get a result and we did what we had to do.

"They (New College Academy) worked hard to close us down and we didn't move the ball quickly enough at times."

The result sees Pegasus on 28 points, two points behind leaders Thornbury Town who have two games in hand.

Panniers added he is hoping to make additions to the squad within the next week.

"We're still looking to make a couple of signings in the next week or so," he said.

"We're trying to improve the squad every couple of weeks but we've come on massively as a club since the start of the season.

"We've got 18 or 20 quality players and people are having to play for a place."
