HANLEY Swan got back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Bishops Cleeve A in Cheltenham Football League Division One.

The hosts started brightly with Kevin Moore and Cathal McTernan going close while midfielders Josh Hughes and Jackson McMullen were instrumental to their passing game.

The defence was well marshalled by Chris Bunn, Dion Francis, James Holloway and Ash Robinson.

Just before half-time veteran Ed Hofton scored from 12 yards to give Hanley the lead at the break.

The second period saw Hanley play down the slope and Holloway forced the Cleeve keeper to save.

Minutes later McTernan ran forward and the ball fell to Moore who made no mistake to put Hanley two up.

Midway through the half a Holloway cross was met by Moore's unstoppable volley for Hanley’s third.

Cleeve mounted a comeback with one goal before adding a second from a corner with minutes to go.

Keeper Dan Rawlings pulled off a vital stop in the dying seconds to ensure the three points for the home side.

Fourth-placed Hanley host Whaddon United, who are one point above them in third, on Saturday (2pm).
