GEOFF Aston and John Phillips won main senior individual contests at Bransford Golf Club.

The singles knockout title went to Aston (20 handicap) after he saw off Trevor Atkinson (15) in the final.

Phillips (23) claimed the seniors plate in a close final against Mike Hendry (30) after leading by one going to the last and securing the necessary half on the 18th hole.

Aston beat Andy Lamb in the semi-finals having already defeated Alan Ford while Atkinson saw off Dave Randle and Phil Spencer on his way.

The second round stableford of the winter league saw Alan Ford, who leads Division One by two points, Gerry Rebbeck and Neil Holbrow scoring 36.

Holbrow won with six pars.

Ford has 72 overall, Rebbeck 70 and Martin Linley and Keith Edgell 68 after rounds of 28 and 34 respectively.

Andrew Jarvis tops Division Two with 71, seven ahead of Anne Hayden, with Trevor Ditchfield, also on 64, in third spot.

Ditchfield scored 39 in the second round with four pars, six ahead of Hayden and seven ahead of Jarvis.

Peter Harrison got 31 and Mike Murley 30.

Roger Steade pulled clear in Division Three with 31 to add to October’s 36.

Brian Taylor has 61 after scoring 31 and 30 to go six behind with Steve Littlewood, Rob Lawrence and Bob Lane on 56.

Hendry scored 39 in his only round to date and Ray Richardson 33.

Darren Jones (15) claimed the first of the festive season’s turkey trots with 38 stableford points from Andy Goodall on 37 and Andrew Oliver (9) and Gordon Jack (8) on 36.

Lesley Lammas (13) got 33 and Norton Fowles (29) and Rob Turner (19) 28.
