MALVERN Town put in a ruthless display to run out 14-0 winners over New College Swindon in Hellenic League Division One West.

Forwards Matt Turner and Dave Reynolds bagged six and five goals respectively at the HDanywhere Community Stadium against the rock-bottom visitors.

Town opened the scoring in the third minute when an intelligent ball picked out Reynolds who found the net.

Turner's header was touched onto the woodwork by the keeper but the forward made no mistake when nodding in Matt Fusco’s cross.

Malvern added to the lead on 12 minutes when Curtis Smith broke away to find Turner in space to score.

Harry Clark’s cross was met with a deft header from Turner to complete his hat-trick in 19 minutes before Louis Loader’s strike nestled into the net to make it 5-0.

A neat move ended with Reynolds’ shot on the turn giving the keeper no chance before Bryan Craven went close from distance.

Malvern defended well at the other end and quick feet on the edge of the area from Reynolds saw him fire home to complete his hat-trick.

Town keeper Chris Pinder saved well from Jayden Handel’s powerful drive.

But after seeing his strike blocked Clark crossed for Reynolds to score from close range on 40 minutes.

Right on half-time Turner headed in a ninth goal from a corner to complete a ruthless first-half showing.

The second period started with Turner breaking through the middle before rounding the keeper to make it double figures.

Shortly afterwards Clark’s cross found Turner who teed up Reynolds to add his fifth goal.

Pinder blocked on the edge of his area from Swindon's Dan White while Malvern's Morgan Skidmore and Clark were denied further goals.

The keeper stopped Loader's free-kick and Clark's follow-up but Malvern added a 12th goal through Turner as he ended a slick move by guiding the ball home.

Reynolds, Fusco and Smith went close before Aaron Griffiths's cross was helped into the net by Clark.

In stoppage time Skidmore’s strike was saved but Clark seized upon the loose ball to complete the scoring with goal number 14.

Town co-manager Dene Whittal-Williams said: “We knew they had been on the end of some heavy defeats this season so it was a case of us going out there, working hard and being professional to get the job done.

“Credit to our opponents because they worked hard for the full 90-plus minutes and made it challenging for us at times.

“It was pleasing the way the lads kept the ball and controlled the tempo of the game throughout.

“Even when they changed their formation in the second half we remained in control and it was nice to add to our momentum and build the confidence levels to show what we are capable of.

“There were some fantastic finishes and some nice build-up play to get the goals.

"The lads were creating some great patterns of play and we’ll be looking to take this into our next games.

“We’ve got a few games to catch up on the teams around us and we want to just keep building and adding to our winning run.”
