BRANSFORD Golf Club's seniors have enjoyed another successful year on and off the fairways.

They went unbeaten at home in club matches during the summer as has been the case for several seasons now and also won twice and halved in away fixtures.

Outgoing captain Andy Falconer thanked members for their support during his year in office, especially those who regularly attended club matches.

Members helped raise £3,125 for his chosen charity Royal British Legion via entry fees for competitions, raffles and an auction of golf prizes.

Falconer thanked the seniors’ committee, who were later re-elected en masse for 2020, for their help.

Taking over as the section’s new captain is Trevor Atkinson whose chosen charity will be Cancer Research UK.

He will introduce a regular day raffle for the prize of a 30-minute tuition session with club professional Tim Shephard.

His vice-captain will be Dave Lindsay.

Atkinson is to continue the tradition of organising two captain’s away days with the first at Redditch on Friday, May 29.

Entry forms for the seniors’ popular competitions of the summer months for the pairs open better-ball on Thursday, September 17, and the three-ball alliance on Thursday, June 25, are now available.
