Ledbury RFC's charge towards the title continued on Saturday as their depleted squad made light work of Burbage.

Ledbury won their 16th straight game in the Midland 3 West (South) to reach 76 points, and go four behind league leaders Old Leamingtonians, who have played a game extra.

Ed Bennion scored a brace of tries and fly-half Jamie Rayfield kicked four of five conversions in swirling conditions to secure yet another win.

There are five games left to play in the season and with Leamingtonians seemingly matching Ledbury win for win, it looks like going all the way down to the final game.

Ledbury arrived at Burbage with a host of players away and even after a 90-mile trip, they did not waste any time in getting stuck in.

A kick to the corner gave the visitors a platform to set-up an attack and Bennion profited from an overthrow at the lineout to crash his way over for the first try.

George Bennion had a great afternoon at full back and a counter attack from him ended with Charlie Barber-Starkey crossing and Rayfield's conversion made it 0-14.

After the break Ledbury did not let up and winger Ben Mason added a third try before the bonus-point was secured thanks to prop Jock Welch.

Burbage did manage a try of their own as prop Luke Greenwood bundled his way over the line but Ledbury responded once more through Bennion to finish the scoring at 5-33.
