Ledbury romped to victory last weekend to maintain their undefeated start to their Division One campaign in the Marches League.

They turned up to Fownhope looking to continue their good form with a more convincing win this week, in comparison to the 1-run win the week prior.

Strollers skipper Doug Roberts won the toss and elected to bat on what looked to be a very challenging wicket.

This proved a costly decision as Ledbury's opening bowlers Josh Emery and Victoria Evans had the home team reeling on 30-6, with wickets tumbling nearly every over.

With two hat-trick chances in the space of 12 balls, Strollers really needed to consolidate their innings for any chance of gaining points.

At 72-9 1st change bowler Tom Hill then took the final scalp, with an impressive catch from Charles Tager to leave the home team with a well below-par 72 all out.

Opening batsman Emery and Caffull then took to the crease, and after the first over being taken for 12 by the bat of Emery, it was certain Ledbury were not looking to hang around.

A flurry of boundaries from Emery led him to his first league 50 of the season, and with the ample support of Caffull (11*), Ledbury cruised to the total within 8 overs for the loss of no wicket.

The result leaves the firsts in second place in the table, just five points behind leaders Goodrich.

The firsts host Woolhope 1st XI at Orlham Lane this weekend.
