Ledbury Town continued their preparations for the new league season with a thumping 7-1 win over a youthful Hereford FC Community side at New Street.

Greater experience and superior physicality won the day in the end as the goalscoring phenomenon that is Tom Boyle netted four times.

Josh Burns scored two penalties and new signing Jordan Thomson added a seventh to complete a resounding win just two weeks away from the starts of the Herefordshire Football League Premier Division 2022/23 campaign.

Ian Merrick's side were 5-0 up at the break as man of the match Boyle's third hat-trick of pre-season was added to by Thomson and Burns' first penalty of the day.

Boyle found the net again after the break and Burns converted from the spot again before the visitors got themselves on the scoresheet.

The New Street first string have had a cancellation in their scheduled final pre-season test at home this coming Saturday against FC Tredegar, so are currently seeking another side to provide them with further valuable time on the pitch.

Ledbury begin their new season in the newly-named Herefordshire Football League against old rivals Holme Lacy at New Street two weeks Saturday.

The Reserves were also in action last weekend as they made a great start to their pre-season campaign with a 4-1 victory over English Bicknor Reserves.
