FORMER Ledbury RFC and Worcester Warriors centre, Will Butler has signed for Gloucester Rugby with immediate effect.
Since leaving Warriors, Butler has played in the the Championship with Hartpury RFC, as well as spending time in New Zealand - suiting up for Tasman Mako.
Butler has also represented England in youth age groups in his rugby career, winning the under-20s Six Nations in 2017 and making the final of the under-20s World Championships in the same year.
Originally a product of Ledbury RFC as a young player, Butler joined Worcester at the age of 14 and rose up the ranks, proving vital in the sides' U18 Academy League titles in both 2016 and 2017 - ahead of making his debut in the Challenge Cup against Enisei-STM in 2016.
"We're pleased to bring Will into the building here at Kingsholm to bolster our backs," said George Skivington, director of Gloucester Rugby. "We’re going into a run of really competitive games, so having strength in depth in key areas will be critical.
"Will is an experienced player and he’s extremely motivated to have another shot at the Premiership, so he’s come in with a real hunger to learn and work hard which has been pleasing."
Butler was thrown into the deep end on Friday (December 6), where he came off the bench in Gloucester's Challenge Cup fixture with Edinburgh.
