FOLLOWING a home walkover Ledbury RFC are gearing up for a tough match against Moseley Oak on Saturday (February 15).

The side currently sit ninth in the Regional Two Midlands West, whereas Moseley are flying high in second-place.

In Ledbury's most recent competitive fixture, they took a 28-7 loss to Ludlow in a derby match.

Ledbury looked to match fifth-placed Ludlow for much of the game, but Ludlow were clinical in exploiting gaps in the Ledbury defence and took the victory.

A match with Moseley Oak provides another tough prospect for the side.

In the reverse fixture, Moseley cruised to a 37-17 victory at home.

Ledbury started the match strongly and actually went ahead early on into the tie, as Iolo Bubb converted a penalty from 40 metres out.

It was still a tight game at half time with a score of 13-10 but Moseley were clinical in the second half, shifting gears and cruising to the convincing score line with string-after-string of repeated hard attacking play.

Moseley have been on fine form since, losing just twice since the tie took place in early November.

Most recently they were wholly dominant against lower-table Hereford - not conceding at all as they strolled to a 31-0 triumph.

Ledbury, on the other hand, have taken five losses and three wins since the match.

Other than the home walk over, the side are winless in their last three fixtures.

At this point Moseley Oak have scored 499 points this season, compared to Ledbury's 251.

Ledbury have shipped 440 points against, while Moseley have held their opposition to 321.

Notably the sides faced off in the Midlands Division Cup in October of 2009, where Moseley Oak powered to a 117-0 triumph.

Ledbury will hope to pull off a shock result in the tie, as they continue their push to ensure safety from the drop - there are currently three sides sat below them, with them holding two points over nearest chasers Malvern.

The match will kick off this Saturday (February 15) at the Ross Road Playing Fields in Ledbury.
