Ledbury Cricket Club held its annual six-a-side tournament on Sunday.
The event at Orlham Lane saw local teams compete in a day of thrilling cricket.
Despite some early weather concerns, the day continued without a hitch.
Teams from Goodrich, Fownhope Strollers, Ledbury Rugby Club, Moccas, Wanderers, Celtic Marches, and Ledbury CC participated.
The competition culminated in a victory for the Celtic Marches VI, who were crowned the 2025 champions.
Their win came after a superb batting performance in the final game against the Strollers.
Special thanks were extended to Owen Collingbourne of Ledbury CC for organising the games, Steve Burgess for arranging the sides, and the Ledbury CC ground staff.
In other matches over the weekend, Ledbury's league teams both secured victories.
The 1st XI travelled to Bartestree, where they batted first on a dry pitch.
The team faced some early difficulties, with a few wickets falling, but Jack Trattell and captain Josh Evans steadied the innings.
However, the middle order collapsed, with four wickets falling in one over, with a hat trick for Bartestree’s J. Acharya.
Josh Evans (69) and Duncan Bell (44) managed to steer the team to a respectable 220-run total.
Bartestree’s batters faced early losses, with Vicky Evans taking two wickets.
Chaz Barber and Josh Evans took advantage of the middle order nerves, with three and two wickets respectively.
Jack Cambridge’s leg spin was particularly effective, securing three wickets.
Meanwhile, the 2nd XI hosted Bosbury at Orlham Lane.
Ledbury bowled first, with Bosbury putting up 205 runs from their 45 overs, losing six wickets.
Aaron Almond stood out among the bowlers, taking four wickets with his leg spin.
In response, Ledbury reached the target within 41 overs, thanks to Mike Warr’s impressive 87 runs.
This victory marked another success for the 2nd XI, showcasing the effective blend of experience and youth in the team.
Looking to the next set of matches, Ledbury 1st XI will face Martley CC at home, aiming for another win to improve their league standing.
The 2nd XI will be away at Hay on Wye, seeking to further cement their mid-table position.
