Ledbury CC 1st XI extended their impressive run, claiming a fourth consecutive victory against Malvern CC in a commanding performance.
The match took place on a scorching Saturday afternoon at Orlham Lane - all credit must go to the grounds team for managing to put out a superb pitch every week despite the hot weather.
Ledbury's captain, Josh Evans, won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that would pay dividends.
The home side's bowlers made an immediate impact, with Jack Trattell and Vicky Evans each taking an early wicket to dismiss the Malvern openers.
Returning leg spinner Jamie Turner proved effective as well, claiming three lower-order wickets later in the innings and David Nash also contributed with a crucial wicket.
However, with a Man of the Match bowling effort it was Duncan Bell who stole the show, taking four wickets for just 25 runs in nine overs, including three maidens.
Malvern were eventually bowled out for 153 runs in the 41st over.
In reply, Ledbury's innings began explosively, primarily thanks to the captain's aggressive batting.
Josh Evans unleashed a flurry of superb attacking shots, scoring 77 runs off just 64 balls, which included 16 boundaries.
Although Malvern managed to take four wickets, Jamie Turner added a quick-fire 26 before leaving for a wedding, ensuring the home side reached their target comfortably in the 21st over.
Meanwhile, Ledbury's 2nd XI also enjoyed success in West Malvern and almost certainly secured their place in the league for next season.
They batted first and amassed an impressive total of 274 runs from their 45 overs.
Contributions came from Mike Warr with 59 runs, captain Rhys Gunter with 62, and Tim Rylett with 43.
In reply, West Malvern fell short, finishing at 218 for the loss of seven wickets.
Brian Weaver took two wickets, while Mike Warr and Noah Jones each claimed one, and Ed Nolan rounded off the bowling performance with three wickets.
This was another good weekend for Ledbury CC, with both teams securing victories.
The second half of the season has seen promising performances from new and returning players alike.
Looking ahead, the 1st XI will face off against second-placed Garnons at home next week, while the 2nd XI will make the short trip to Colwall to take on their 3rd XI.
