This weekend marked a special milestone for the Honey Badgers Women, as they took to the field for their first-ever mixed ability rugby match, joining forces with Yeovil to take on Stafford, writes Evan Almond-Harker.

Despite the final score of Honey Badgers and Yeovil 5 – Stafford 20, the game was a huge success and a true celebration of mixed ability rugby values — teamwork, inclusion, and pure love for the sport.

A special mention goes to Sarah Nicholls, whose dedication and leadership were instrumental in bringing the game together. From start to finish, she ensured spirits stayed high, play remained fair, and everyone had the chance to be fully involved.

The standout performance of the day came from Wiktoria Tucholska, earning the title of Woman of the Match.

In her first-ever game of rugby, Wiktoria showcased incredible potential, supporting teammates on and off the pitch — and capped off the day by scoring the Honey Badgers’ first-ever try.

The match was officiated by Ledbury RFC chair, Ellie Ramsey, a first for her too, and both sides were given a round of applause post-match by the supporters in the Ledshed, awaiting kick off of the men’s league match.
